I know it’s so hard to decipher what you’re being told about the housing market so as I always say let the numbers speak for themselves. Lets look at the housing inventory numbers first. Here in Salt Lake County, we have about a 25% increase in housing inventory over where we did at this time last year. So as a seller, that means you have more competition to get a buyer’s attention to get your house sold. And as we move into April, May and June, historically in Utah, we see more houses being listed which means the housing inventory is gonna go up even more and give you even more competition than what already is there. So if you’re thinking about selling, March is a great time.
Second, is interest rates. We’re hovering right around a one year low right now for interest rates which is good news for a seller and a buyer because the lower the interest rates are, the more buying potential a buyer has to purchase your house.
